Welcome to the new home of Radio Zibonele 98.2 FM. Radio Zibonele was established in 1993 in Khayelitsha Cape Town, as a home made radio station. It was set up under the bed in an old shipping container truck. The container truck served as a clinic for Welcome to the new home of Radio Zibonele 98.2 FM.

Radio Zibonele reaches the majority of Black communities in the Western Cape. We cover the whole greater Peninsula. Radio Zibonele broadcasts for the majority of Xhosa speaking people.
While Radio Zibonele covers Khayelitsha-the third biggest township in South Africa, the station also reaches many communities.
The station is broadcasting to people who pride themselves with isiXhosa, the second largest population group in South Africa.
With a listenership of 233 000, Radio Zibonele is the second biggest community radio station in the province.
